Metales Flix has significantly improved its production processes with the recent Thermo Fisher RM310 coating thickness gauge installation.

This investment represents a milestone in enhancing the efficiency of zinc coating application on steel coils during the continuous hot-dip galvanization process.


The RM310 is state-of-the-art equipment that enables real-time measurement of the applied coating thickness, ensuring precise and effective process control. The RM310's advanced technology features two measurement heads that use X-ray sources to generate X-ray fluorescence (XRF) on the coated coil. Ion cameras within the sensor head detect this radiation, allowing for accurate real-time measurements of both sides of the coil.
